Stingray Frequently Asked Questions....

Is it dangerous to play with Stingrays? Could I get stung like Steve Irwin?

No...These stingrays are very friendly and have been hand fed by humans for over 35 years. They see large numbers of people on a daily basis..  Even though they are free to come and go they associate human interaction with free food and seem to love being in our arms.  Stingrays are not naturally aggressive.  However if a wild stingray is trapped and threatened,  the defensive action is to use it's barb or stinger located half way down the tail.   We show our stingrays the love they show us and handle them with the respect they deserve.

How can I make a reservation?

Use our simple online reservation form.

Can I still book even though it's the last minute?

Yes....many people do and often get replies to their reservation while on the ship.

What do I need to tell you when I make a reservation?

The name of your ship or hotel, date and time of arrival, duration of your stay, do you need transport, and number of people.

Can I still reserve even though I'm not on a cruise ship?

Yes..We also cater to people staying in Grand Cayman. Reserve on line, mentioning the date you would like to book and where you are staying. Duration of stay and if you require transport?

I can advise you on dates/time/ availability.  You can also telephone me on island at 925-5542.  Look for our rack cards in the hotels and condos or ask your concierge.

Where do I find out about the tour and prices etc?

Click on "the tour" in the menu bar above for everything you need to know.  Check out the photo gallery, as a picture is worth a thousand words.

What are the pro's and con's of your tour compared to the cruise ship offered tour?

Cruise ship tour

Twice the price with 100 of your new best friends.

Be sure to check out Cruise Critic or Trip Advisors for independent reviews from satisfied customers who have enjoyed our tours over the last 8 years..

If I go on your tour I'm worried I could miss my last tender.

We are very focused and aware of cruise departure times based on 8 years of experience at seeing the same ships.  No one taking our tour has ever missed their last tender.

Can my Grandfather and infant enjoy your tour?  Are their age limits?

No age limits. 9 weeks to 90 years, we have safely entertained them all.  You will see from the pictures in the Gallery all ages have a "whale of a time."

Can people with disabilities do the tour?

We have had blind people, to people in wheelchairs, to obese people. All these people knew their limitations and acted accordingly.  From not doing the snorkel portion to careful use of our huge ladders to remaining on board as a spectator and still enjoyed the experience.

Can I still do this tour if I can't swim?

The stingray interaction is in about 3 feet of water.  Snorkeling site about 7 feet. We have snorkeling vests to permit the non swimmers to enjoy this portion as well.  We just ask that you know and respect your own limitations. It's a good idea to practice in a swimming pool/bath tub prior to arrival.

Will I get seasick on your boat?

No..Moby Dick is very wide and stable and doesn't roll.  We go into the waves on the way out and come back with them.  The North sound is very shallow, 10 feet maximum depth, and doesn't get very rough..

Is it safe to leave my stuff on the boat?

Yes..we are with our own personal group on the boat. People leave their belongings under the seats. No one outside our tour boards the boat.

Can I get dropped at Seven Mile Beach on the way back how does that work?

The bus goes back into town after the tour and run along SMB. To get back to the town/port from there take a taxis $5 or bus $2 a head. it's a 10min journey and lot's of transport.

Do you provide food/lunch and drink for the tour?

You will be with us for 3hrs and we don't provide food/lunch, only for the stingrays.  We do provide for free, juice and water.  Bring your own food if you wish.

What if it's too rough and the tour is cancelled or our ship can't dock/tender. What is your cancellation policy?

It's very rare that we cancel the tour.  New regulations allow the marine police the power to close the sandbar if they think it is not safe.  You pay only when you arrive unless you have a large group (8 or more) and then any deposit will be refunded to you.
