Tour 1: Eastern North Shore highlights, from Ocho Rios

Our first stop is for a rum-topped coconut – a must! Then a short twenty-minute drive to the James Bond beach and Goldeneye, sitting square on the edge of the one-time home of Ian Fleming, and forming the bedrock of 007’s shining spy career. This tiny cove was the inspiration for ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’; a true gem.

Rio Nuevo is our next ‘must do’. See first-hand the masked ‘Junkanoo’ characters in traditional folklore dress. This ancient Jamaican village has lots to see and do; a trip through an unshrouded history of Anglo-Spanish conflict and carib-indian culture.

Lunch will be provided at one of the rural, local, and semi-secret locations. We like to change this location regularly in order to surprise you! But wherever we choose, you can always be assured of the best West Indian cuisine.

Shaw Park follows, towering over Ocho Rios. Take in the stunning panoramic views across St Anne’s towards the Caribbean sea beyond. Take a stroll to the cascading waterfall hidden among the multi-level tiered gardens. Or simply take in the breath-taking view!

And finally, a short ride back to your hotel or ship via an out of the way craft shop. Please note that there will be other brief photo-opportunities along the way not listed above. You can mix and match as you go. It’s your tour!

Tour 2: Western North Shore Highlights, from Falmouth

Private Jamaica Tours with Moby Dick Tours! We will start you off with a brief tour of Montego Bay (no stops, just brief highlights), then one of the star attractions, a tour of Rose Hall. See the tomb of Annie Palmer, the infamous and deadly ‘White Witch’, a real ‘must do’ which is missing from so many other tour itineraries. Steeped in dark history, Rose Hall is one of the finest colonial homes in the entire Caribbean.

Next on our list is a brief stop at the Martha Brae river. Enjoy the cool river banks and watch the rafts float by.

In true Moby Dick Tours tradition as always, lunch will be served in a select local environment. As with our Eastern north-shore tour, this will be kept secret. Our driver (of ten years) will ask what you will prefer, but rest assured, it will be local, and some of the west-Indies’ finest cuisine.

After lunch, we save one of the best attractions until last – The Green Grotto Caves at Runaway Bay. You will have just under an hour to explore the ‘villain’s hideout’ of Dr Kananga, James Bond 007’s evil nemesis from Ian Fleming’s ‘Live and Let Die’.

And finally, a quick visit to a perfect beach to say “farewell to Jamaican shores.” You can mix and match as you go. It’s your tour!
